Wing Ribs Misc.

The ribs went pretty quickly, due to the fact that they were already formed. I transferred a pattern from the plans to make all the gussets for the root through no.5 ribs. These all need to be notched out for clearance from the spar flange. I bent the gussets up with my handy Harbor Freight Aviation Supply metal bending brake and soon had a pile of ribs and gussets ready to be assembled.

The ribs went onto the spar pretty quickly using the spar as drilling guide to transfer holes to the ribs and spacers.

Brackets for the pitot-static lines go in the first 4 ribs.
